The article attached gives Trump his due while explaining why he is not fit to be President, a police officer, or a dog catcher. (piteous dogs)
Trump needs a rabies shot, despite being the victim of a deceitful unconscionable double standard by the mainstream media since before 2016. The shabby cynicism and concerted deceptions of his enemies are despicable. They relentlessly sought and seek to delegitimize his Presidency, destroy his life, and deflate his aspirational ambitions. He has unwittingly been complicit and remains their perfect foil.
Their condemnable conduct does not justify his reprehensible appropriation of one impervious bullet proof standard for himself, completely utilitarian and self-serving, and another body of norms for everyone else. Starkly persistent and ruthlessly pursued by him they reveal an accumulation of sophomoric self-gratifications. Not to condemn his aberrant behavior, not merely its nadir on January 6th, but throughout his term of office is to condone it.
He is like the precocious child who stands at center stage to display his preternatural lung capacity while exhaling into a brightly hued, voluminous balloon, filling it by his prodigious exuberance, to the amazement of his audience, for the adulation of some, the horror of others, but provocative to all.
Just when approval for his virtuosity reached its apex, he precipitated an inflection point by plunging a punctuating object into the well stretched surface of the balloon’s surface to deflate its bloat. In a stunning denouement he diminished it to a fallow heap of rubber on the floor.
He smirks with self-aggrandizing pleasure and jumps with the glee at his self- perceived immunity from attack. Friend and foe alike gasp in dismay, booing him vociferously, accompanied by hisses, catcalls and heaving projectiles to drive him from the stage. Eventually subdued, enraged, or dejected, they shuffle disconsolately from the arena, stunned into pained silence or uttering heart-rending shrieks and piercing moans.
He cut a marginally acceptable, if not fine figure, when observed through rose colored glasses, but at long last “the bloom is off the rose.” He had dirty done to him, no doubt, and massively, but in returning dirt for dirt he sullied the Presidency and tarnished himself. He must leave us, if ever he was with us, and if he does not, we must leave him and relinquish at last our “ willing suspension of disbelief.”
America is not synonymous with Trump despite his avowals to the contrary. If it were to become so it would be an inhospitable place and virtually uninhabitable. Presently, we are not living freely under the tawdry Biden administration. We barely subsist (‘we can’t breathe’) amidst unsustainable disorder and imminent anarchy. Our nation cannot permanently endure half Trump and half Biden. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” It must not become one thing or the other or “this nation will certainly perish from the earth.”
We desperately need an enlightened leader to reinvigorate our national ideals of freedom, liberty and justice for all. We need leadership not only in the person and presence of a Chief Executive to replace a fatuous President, but stalwarts from all walks of life, from our cities and our townships, from every nook and cranny in the land, to heal our nations wounds. And we need them now.
At this propitious juncture we do well to remember that, “ we get the leaders we deserve.” Henceforth we must say, “ we have met the leaders and they are us.”
Tim, right on target as usual, enjoy your 4th July Holiday. Jim
